Kenneth
Electrical Engineer
I first heard about General Fusion through the University of British Columbia co-op program. After graduating and working in the industry for several years, I found myself seeking more from my work—something with purpose and the potential to make a real societal impact. I realized I wanted to contribute to a mission aligned with my values and aspirations. General Fusion stood out as a place where I could make a difference in pursuing clean and sustainable energy for the future.
One of my proudest moments at work was being part of the Prototype 0 team, where we were focused on conducting experiments to compress toroidal magnetic flux on the small-scale compression test bed for LM26. We tried different methods and faced some challenges, but we persisted and continued refining our approach. Finally, one of our solutions worked, leading to a breakthrough that significantly helped our efforts. Seeing our hard work pay off and make a tangible impact was incredibly rewarding.
A little-known fact about me is that I’ve started learning how to DJ, playing around with everything from hip-hop to dance music. It’s just for fun, and I love the creative freedom it gives me. My DJ name? “JUSTKEN.”
If you asked my family about me, they’d probably joke that I’m overly analytical—which might be a bit of a backhanded compliment!
