General Fusion team members working on LM26, the company's large-scale Magnetized Target Fusion demonstration machine

Company Overview

Fusion energy has the potential to transform how we energize the world and meet the growing global need for clean baseload power.

General Fusion is a leader in the fusion industry, developing practical Magnetized Target Fusion technology that addresses the key barriers to commercializing fusion.

Our world-class team of scientists, engineers, and business leaders has a proven culture of execution, with more than 20 years of experience designing, building, operating, and scaling test beds and prototypes. General Fusion is one of only four companies worldwide to have achieved and published meaningful peer-reviewed fusion results on the path to the Lawson criterion.

We are operating a world-first, large-scale Magnetized Target Fusion demonstration machine, Lawson Machine 26, and advancing toward important technical milestones: 1 keV, 10 keV, and the Lawson criterion. These are critical steps toward delivering practical fusion energy within the next decade.

For General Fusion’s approach, LM26 is designed to use hydrogen fuel to simultaneously demonstrate the temperature, density, and energy confinement time that together represent the operating point for D-T plasma satisfying the Lawson criterion.

Statements of future expectations, plans, or results in this video are forward-looking statements that we expect or anticipate will or may occur in the future, including the outlook for General Fusion’s business and its ability to commercialize fusion technology. You should carefully consider the risks and uncertainties described in the Proxy Statement/Prospectus filed by General Fusion and Spring Valley Acquisition Corp. III (“SVAC”) with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) on June 12, 2026, and those discussed and identified in other filings made with the SEC from time to time. Important information regarding these risks and uncertainties and the proposed business combination between General Fusion and SVAC is available here: https://generalfusion.com/disclosures/.

LM26: Built and Operating

In 2025, our journey to deliver clean fusion energy to the world took a major leap forward when we began operating LM26, our large-scale Magnetized Target Fusion demonstration machine.

Magnetized Target Fusion Technology

What has set General Fusion apart from the outset is our uniquely practical MTF approach with a liquid metal wall. Our technology was designed from the ground up with a power plant in mind.

By addressing key barriers such as material degradation, fuel production, energy capture, and cost, our approach offers a practical path to fusion energy without relying on expensive lasers or superconducting magnets.
