I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Victoria. Then, I started working with youth with autism, including running a community services agency that worked towards preparing people with autism to be employment-ready and providing residential services. After that I completed my MBA, with my thesis on effective succession planning and talent management using technology and data. From there, I pursued adventure and moved to Dubai for eight years. I was an adjunct instructor at Zayed University and led the organization’s learning and development function. After moving back to B.C., I entered healthcare as a talent manager at Interior Health and then served as a Manager of Workforce and Succession Planning at the Provincial Health Services Authority. Then, I was fortunate to get this opportunity at General Fusion in 2022.
Although I am a People & Culture professional, I now know so much about fusion due to the updates we receive from weekly all-staff meetings and from our regular lunch and learns we have on technical topics. To feel that you are part of creating the solution to such an impactful problem and to hear about the amazing work and challenges ahead of us is inspiring. There have been so many learning opportunities, and they keep appearing daily.
One of my worst habits is snacking at night, which started during Covid and has yet to stop! My snack of choice is sour cream and onion chips, followed by any kind of chocolate – in that order!
The best place I’ve travelled to is Kruger National Park in South Africa. It was a safari, and there were animals everywhere, but since it was December, there were hordes of baby animals, which was lovely – fun fact…even warthog babies are cute!
