Grant Gardiner is a seasoned executive with deep board experience, having spent over 30 years advising public companies and government organizations through complex business, legal, and governance challenges. As Executive Vice-President at Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL), Grant oversees corporate strategy and major initiatives, including intellectual property licensing, strategic investments, and joint ventures. He is playing a lead role in AECL’s efforts to exploit its CANDU nuclear reactor intellectual property, its medical isotope capabilities, and other nuclear technologies in evolving circumstances. Grant’s extensive public company experience includes senior leadership roles at Nordion (TSX, NYSE), BlackBerry (TSX, NYSE), and Cognos (TSX, Nasdaq), where he had responsibility for U.S. and Canadian securities reporting as well as advising boards and special committees on strategic reviews, M&A, litigation, and regulatory matters.
Grant is currently the Board Chair of Actineer, a company developing the rare medical isotope, Actinium-225. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Prince Edward Island, a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School, and the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
