I was born and raised in Montréal and completed my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in aerospace engineering at Polytechnique Montréal and my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Montréal. While I was still in Montréal, I was surprised to learn that even though I did not have experience in plasma physics, there was a role for me. The fact that General Fusion’s founder, Michel Laberge, is from Quebec and we have a shared francophone background inspired me. So, I jumped at the opportunity to meet the challenge and the purpose of fusion!
Last year, we accomplished a solid lithium ring compression in a short amount of time. We produced conclusive results that led to some key project decisions. A multi-disciplinary team had to get out of their comfort zone and learn new things to make it happen. With the team’s resilience, high motivation, and commitment to our purpose, we rapidly launched and completed our first experimental campaign to scale up for our LM26 fusion machine.
I like to be very active – kayaking, dragon boating, working out, boxing, and skiing in the winter.
