New CFO and VP Government Relations and Corporate Affairs Strengthen Management Team
Burnaby BC– April 19, 2016 – Nathan Gilliland, Chief Executive Officer of innovative cleantech company General Fusion, announced today the appointment of two new members to the company’s senior management team.
Bruce Colwill, formerly of Neuromed Pharmaceuticals, has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of General Fusion. Mr. Colwill brings more than 25 years of experience, including as the CFO of technology companies in their pre-commercial stages, to General Fusion. As the CFO of multiple public and private companies, Mr. Colwill has been responsible for fundraising in excess of US$400 million including private and public financing, debt, a Nasdaq IPO and other structured financings.

Jean-François Béland has been appointed Vice President Government Relations and Corporate Affairs at General Fusion. Most recently, Mr. Béland was Executive Vice-President of AREVA Canada, the Canadian division of the international nuclear energy company. As well, Mr. Béland has extensive experience in government including in the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada, where he served as Policy Advisor on Treasury Board and Governance. He has served on the board of AREVA NP Canada Ltee. since 2008, and also sits on the Board of Trustees of the National Gallery of Canada. In 2013, Mr. Béland was appointed a Chevalier of the National Order of the Legion of Honour, France’s highest honour.
