Abstract
Magnetized Target Fusion (MTF) is a hybrid approach to fusion in which a self-organized plasma is compressed with the inertia of a conductive liner to conditions that fulfill the Lawson criterion. This paper provides an overview of the science behind MTF and the ongoing research at General Fusion to design, test, and demonstrate the ability to produce energy using its acoustic MTF technology.
